At the invitation of Professor Gong Jie and Associate Professor Ma Zhenbang from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Key Laboratory of Western China's Environmental Systems, Ministry of Education, Researcher Dong Rencai from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences visited the Chengguan Campus of Lanzhou University and delivered an academic lecture on April 7, 2025.

Reporter Profile:

Dong Rencai is a Researcher at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the National Prosecutors College. His main research interests include sustainable development assessment, scenic ecology, and eco-environmental damage assessment. He currently holds several academic and professional roles, including Council Member of the China Association for Sustainable Development, Expert in the National Forest and Grassland Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Working Group, Expert in National Soil Erosion Remote Sensing Monitoring and Assessment, and Member of the Environmental Damage Assessment Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.

He has led key projects such as the "Beautiful China" strategic pilot program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, including the development of an intelligent ecosystem management platform for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and a data integration management platform for National Sustainable Development Innovation Demonstration Zones. He has received three provincial or ministerial-level awards for his contributions.
